Edmund Man King Lui, PhD.

A commitment to the field of Complementary & Integrative Health (CIH).  Dr. Ed Lui is a pharmacologist and toxicologist by training and has made use of his expertise in medicine to advance CIH by engaging in relevant research, education, and promotion of integrative health and various out-reach activities over the last 20 years. Dr. Lui’s vision to bridge multiple sectors, knowledge disciplines, health practitioners and researchers has led the way to some of the most innovative programs of research and education in Canada.  His leadership in the study of American ginseng has been validated through the investment of millions of dollars of private and public sector support, the training of dozens of highly qualified personnel in several disciplines, and outreach as well as exposure of countless others over the years.  The impulse that acts as a foundation for all of Dr. Lui’s professional activities is the belief that integrative medicine will be a reality if all health practitioners are willing to communicate and collaborate. Through his work and his approach, Dr. Lui has had a profound and positive effect on his fellow professors, health practitioners, and collaborators.
